Dear McLean Patients, Residents, and Families,
Happy spring!
We were hoping the transmission rates in the county would be low for the upcoming Easter and Passover weekend, but unfortunately the Hartford County level remains substantial at this time. Due to this level, we must remain vigilant in protecting our residents. Everyone will continue to wear masks and will socially distance, while in the building, regardless of vaccination status.
Face coverings and physical distancing during visits
- Visitors should wear face coverings or masks and physically distance when around other residents or healthcare personnel, regardless of vaccination status.
- If the nursing home’s county COVID-19 community level of transmission is substantial to high, all residents and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, should wear face coverings or masks and physically distance, at all times.
Unfortunately, this means a meal with your loved one is not possible because masks would have to be removed.
We know this information is difficult to understand because other reports and the news are showing the community levels as low, but nursing homes need to follow the county transmission rates. Outside of McLean is a very different environment and we need to follow different rules and guidelines set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding, as we continue to keep our residents safe.
We look forward to you joining us for the next Family Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Here is the information to join.
