McLean and Millwright's Restaurant Host First "Lunch at the Loft"

Millwright’s Chef Tyler Anderson, along with Chef Niles, cooked up an exceptional meal for our  "Lunch at the Loft".  McLean’s nutritionist, Jeanine Milano explained the nutritional value of  the fresh ingredients found at the Farmers Market and used in his recipe,  just prior to the cooking demonstration. McLean Residents Find a Personal Meaning in Art

McLean’s Therapeutic Recreation Team Along with Art Therapist Kim Starr,  Introduce a Dynamic New Program, Reminisce through Art


Reminisce through Art is a program designed to elicit storytelling and the sharing of memories, while residents create artwork in a group setting. Art Therapist, Kim Starr, along with the McLean Therapeutic Recreation team, have found it to be an inspirational activity which motivates group participation and creativity.

Members of the McLean community accepted grants supporting resident activities and programs awarded by The McLean Auxiliary during the Annual Grant Awards Reception and Strawberry Festival Luncheon on June 1.

McLean Resident Takes Part in American Warrior Honor Flight Program

McLean resident and WW II Veteran, Donald Gebhardt, served as an Army Air Corp radar repairman and was stationed in Okinawa, Guam and Saipan. This past month, he fulfilled an 8-year old dream by visiting the WWII memorial in Washington DC, as part of the American Warrior’s Honor Flight program.

McLean Celebrates Memorial Day

Members of the Color Guard from the American Legion and VFW Simsbury participated in honoring veterans on the McLean campus on Monday. After a welcome presentation by volunteer Dane Woodbury, including a history of the poppy flower often worn to symbolize Memorial Day, the members of the Color Guard ceremoniously raised a new American Flag, then somberly lowered it to half-staff in honor of the men and women who died while in the military service.

 On Tap from The Farmington Valley Chorus, Simsbury came to sing patriotic songs to cap off the celebrations.
