Holiday Notes Ring Through the Village

The mood was festive at the Burkholder Community Lounge on Thursday afternoon, December 11, as everyone gathered together to enjoy a performance by the Westminster School’s talented Chamber Choir.

The beautifully-decorated room set the scene for a preconcert reception of champagne punch and hors d’oeuvres. Everyone commented that bruschetta spread and champagne dressed with cranberries were a delicious treat!

The Chamber Choir, accompanied by piano, performed a series of holiday songs for approximately 40 minutes. They delighted the McLean audience with their repertoire and contagious enthusiasm. The students passed out song sheets and invited the group to join them in a sing–a-long toward the end. Everyone happily chimed in to Christmas favorites like Jingle Bells and Silent Night.

The Westminster Chamber Choir is directed by David Chrzanowski, who is also the school’s chapel organist. It is comprised of high school students, grades 9-12, who have been selected through an audition process.

McLean was proud to host them as we ring in the season!

Celebrate the Arts with McLean

Local artists on display for the holidays and year-round

Each month, McLean exhibits a showcase of works created by our talented local artists, for the enjoyment of our residents and the entire community.

This December we invite you to visit us and see the beautiful paintings by our feature artists of the month; Deborah Boemmels and Maria Cyr!

This display is located just off our main lobby entrance. Feel free to stop by and simply enjoy -- or consider purchasing one for your home or a gift. Reasonable prices make them holiday treasures your loved ones can cherish for years to come.

Both of these artists will have their paintings on display with us through the end of December, so there is still plenty of time to take a break from the holiday rush.

We look forward to welcoming an exhibit by Lee Ora to start off the new year in January!
